Does Jay-Z and Beyonce have all of our money?
The New Yorker is reporting that a group of Republican lawmakers have called for tougher sanctions on the entertainers Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
“We must send a strong message to Beyoncé and Jay-Z that the United States of America will not tolerate this kind of provocation,” said Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Florida), who blamed President Obama for “permitting the crisis to escalate dangerously.”
“While the President has allowed himself to be distracted by North Korea, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were engaged in threatening activities right in our own hemisphere,” he said, charging the President with being “soft on Beyoncé.”
Echoing his sentiments, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen called for the “toughest economic sanctions possible to isolate the growing threat posed by Beyoncé and Jay-Z.”
Meanwhile, Stacey Dash has slammed the couple for their decision to spend their anniversary in Cuba.
Dash tweeted, “Do you care that The Jay Z”s have taken the capital you have given them and funded a communist oppressive regime?” (Apparently, Hov and Bey’s conjoined name is “The Jay Zs.”)
Judging by her followers’ responses, no, they don’t care. “I like you better when you were CLUELESS,” one fan wrote, while another said, “What. Ever.”
And if your head isn’t spinning enough, two members of U.S. Congress are now asking the Treasury Department to investigate whether they violated the long-standing U.S. embargo restricting travel to Cuba.
