New York Fashion Week is already going full throttle, and not even a crazy winter blizzard can stop it.
Allie is Wired braved the cold and snow to see Aveda hair stylists working backstage at the Ann Yee 2013 Autumn/Winter collection photo shoot.
Inspired by Vogue’s Grace Coddington, Aveda stylists used heat, hardware, and hairspray to tease out the messy chic look. The crack team showed us how to get the same creative look using twisted tin foil instead of the metal tools they were using (from Home Depot!)
Model’s posed for hair stylists, make-up artists, dressers and photographers in the bustling backstage area, calm and collected while an impressive team of beauty experts transformed them into feminine and willowy walking portraits.
The shoot featured future autumn trends from the Ann Yee collection like knit sweaters, sweater dresses, bold pops of lime green, leather accents and statement collars.
Aveda is once again bringing their campaign “Aveda Catwalks for Water” to New York Fashion Week, helping to eliminate waste in the fashion community and save more than 6,000 plastic water bottles from being used by providing free re-usable water bottles and NYC tap water for fashionistas.
