Lady Gaga arrived at a Chicago area Starbucks on Friday night in a wheelchair!
What began as a postponement soon turned into an all-out cancellation as it was announced that Gaga will be unable to perform any of the remaining dates on her Born This Way Ball.
“After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances,” a statement on her Little Monsters site explained.
“She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.”
Gaga’s hip surgery is expected to occur “within 4 or 5 days” according to the fan that spoke with her at the Starbucks.
She’s been apparently staying with her boyfriend Taylor Kinney at his Chicago home.
Billboard reported this week a rundown of the economic losses, and they don’t look pretty. Try show cancellations that result in ticket refunds worth $25 million.
Live Nation Global Touring chairman Arthur Fogel calls the cancellation “a tremendous disappointment for her, for her fans, for all of the people in the touring party— the crew, the staff, the band, the performers, the dancers— and for my team.”
