Woodfire Grill in Atlanta – Kevin Gillespie
The adorable Kevin! Oh how we loved him in season 6. He was a contestant that you respect admired and want to pinch his cheeks. He started as a sous chef in the Georgian digs and is now a co-owner. The establishment embraces the slow cooking movement and boasts dreamy things like smoked Berkshire pork belly.
Stefan’s at LA Farm in Los Angeles – Stefan Richter
The man you loved to hate on season 5 and 10 – Stefan! He may not have won either stint on ‘Top Chef,’ but the man is still enjoying the spoils of success. Absinthe Jell-O anyone?
Girl and the Goat in Chicago – Stephanie Izard
Stephanie wasn’t a Quickfire challenge maven, but she did conquer season 4 of ‘Top Chef.’ She opened ‘Girl and the Goat’ in Chicago. The American fair is sprinkled with East Asian flavors and has a lovely beer selection.
VOLT in Frederick, MD – Bryan Voltaggio
The immaculate kitchen of the Voltaggio brother is in a 19th-century mansion. If you want to score a spot on the tasting menu reservation list…book now and you might be able to dine within a year. One word will sum up the food – innovative.
Hudson House in Redondo Beach – Brooke Williamson
We couldn’t skip out on current ‘Top Chef’ finalist, Brooke! She has a namesake growing in California. The Hudson House is among the best in the American Pub movement. It’s hip, dark and intimate, but encourage mellow socialization. The food reaches beyond the french fry and adds a little something extra to the plate and the palate.
