Rihanna has just unveiled the music video for her new single “Diamonds.”
The video is a subtle ode to love, full of metaphorical imagery and awe inspiring shots… oh and horses!
“Diamonds” is the lead single off the singer’s new upcoming album Unapologetic.
The clip starts out in black and white as Rihanna rolls a joint filled with diamonds, it’s a lot more dramatic and romantic than it sounds.
Then the video cuts to RiRi running down a dark road and finding herself under an aurora borealis type of phenomenon in the sky.
We then see the singer in various locations like drifting in a body of water, running around with horses and walking through a burning city.
There’s obviously an emphasis on the basic elements: earth, wind, water and fire.

Interestingly there are a few cuts of Rihanna’s hand clutching onto a man’s tattooed arm and hand… anyone want to guess who the guy might be?
Yup I’m guessing Chris Brown too.
Overall it’s a nice video and to go along with a nice song. It’s not her best, but that’s okay it doesn’t always have to be a highly choreographed, blockbuster video like “Where Have You Been.”
Sometimes it’s nice to watch something that’s a little more subtle, especially from Rihanna.
