FreeFest – Friends Gathering “For A Higher Calling” (Photos)

It feels more like family.

It took three years of FreeFests, 77,000 volunteer hours and $600,000 in donations, but in November, Virgin Mobile will be opening up the doors to the RE*Generation House, a homeless youth shelter in Washington, DC.

The RE*Generation House is Virgin Mobile’s effort to empower a generation to help its own.

Over two million youth (between the ages of 12 and 24) will experience at least one episode of homelessness each year and over 100,000 youth sleep on the street for 6 months or more in America. Even one is too many.

With this years FreeFest festival, two years of operating expenses will be donated, to make sure the shelter keeps its doors open.

Virgin Mobile hopes to open more shelters in other cities, based on rock concerts and volunteerism.

Our higher calling.
