It is being reported that Christina Aguilera made comments regarding her weight in an interview… but apparently this never happened!

Despite endless reports stating that Christina told producers that they were “working with a fat girl,” her rep is revealing that she didn’t say anything like that.

In her Billboard interview, which is on stands now, the singer talks about her career, her new album Lotus, The Voice and more, but she never once brings up her weight!

Some misreported quotes include:

“I got tired of being a skinny white girl. I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl… [In 2002,] I had gained about 15 pounds during promotion and during my Stripped tour. They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight. They claimed people I toured with would miss out if I gained weight because I would sell no records or tickets for my shows. I was young, so I lost the weight quickly and was toothpick thin during [2006's] Back to Basics promos and touring.”

“I told them during this Lotus recording, ‘You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it. They need a reminder sometimes that I don’t belong to them. It’s my body.”

Here’s the thing, these quotes cannot be found anywhere in the print or online version of the Billboard interview!

A rep for Christina released a statement regarding the false quotes saying, “She never said them.”

Apparently the fake quotes came from a post on Tumblr that had been reblogged so much that the media took it as the truth.

Well I guess the lesson is you can’t believe everything you read on Tumblr…
