The Emmy Awards 2012 – Winners List (Photos)

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards aired tonight from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Competition was tough, with shows like “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Modern Family,””Downton Abbey” and “Homeland” up for awards. Which programs and actors took home the top prizes?

The hit ABC drama “Modern Family” swept through the award show’s early categories snagging multiple wins for its stars Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen who both won for best supporting actor and actress for their portrayals of Cameron Tucker and Claire Dunphy.

“I never knew I’d be on TV as a gay man, but I love the pictures of hairy chests that you’re sending me,” said Stonestreet who a man in a happy same-sex marriage.

Hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel and shown live on ABC, more than 20 Emmy awards were handed out – see the full list below.
