'Switched at Birth' Fall Premiere Episode 23 'This Is the Color of My Dreams' Live Recap 9/3/12The ABC’s Family Award Winning series Switched At Birth airs tonight with it’s Fall premiere. If you have not watched the show yet it tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother.

Meanwhile, Daphne Vasquez, who contracted meningitis and became deaf at an early age, grew up with a single mother in a working-class neighborhood. Things come to a dramatic head when the families meet and struggle to learn how to live together for the sake of the girls.

On tonight’s show called “This Is The Color Of My Dreams” Bay returns from her summer trip with a new boyfriend. Kathryn juggles her duties as a wife and mom with her new career as an author. Daphne gets a new job. The kids return to school.

In advance of the premiere, Hyperion released a Switched At Birth book (now available at online retailers) divulging the contents of a memoir authored by the character Kathryn Kennish (played by Lea Thompson) in the series.
