MTV Music Video Awards – Winners List (Photos)

The 2012 MTV Music Video Awards kicked off Thursday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

This was the first year at the venue, which left the likes of Billboard to say, “The most shocking aspect of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards? That would be the lack of shocking moments.”

Tonight’s performers included: One Direction, Green Day, Frank Ocean, Pink, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. And look out for Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Andy Samberg, Rashida Jones, Demi Lovato, Ke$ha, The Wanted, the gold medal-winning U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team and host Kevin Hart.

Robert Pattinson was on hand to introduce a teaser of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2.”

Kristen Stewart, however, was not in attendance — she’s currently in Canada with Robert’s t-shirt.
