Zayn Malik Quits Twitter, Rejoins Two Days Later
One Direction‘s Zayn Malik dumped his five million Twitter followers after getting sick of all the trolls.
“The reason I don’t tweet as much as I use to, is because I’m sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily goodbye twitter,” Zayn posted to his fans. “my fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account.”
His ‘Directioners‘ went into meltdown-mode and spent hours on the social networking platform pleading with the X Factor star to return.
The root of the problem?
Zayn’s fans are really quite jealous of his relationship with Perrie Edwards (one of the members of the group Little Mix).
His departure didn’t last long.
“Sorry, I was getting some abuse on twitter but I dont want to let my fans down. So I am back!” he wrote two days later.
Zayn and Perrie recently announced their plans to set up home together in London. The couple have been dating on and off since meeting on the X Factor last year.
Zayn’s return to Twitter came with the announcement of the band’s new single, “Live While You’re Young,” off their upcoming album.
“We want to say a massive thank you to you guys, because we wouldn’t be where we are today without you.”
The album will be available for preorder Thursday night at midnight.
