Wired Review: Total Recall

Based on a Philip K. Dick short story titled “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, Paul Verhoeven made Total Recall a blockbuster in 1990 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This year, Len Wiseman’s Total Recall features a mighty decent cast with Colin Farrell, Wiseman’s wife Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel in the lead.

Not at all bad execution, but I don’t ‘Rekall‘ feeling like the film needs a remake.

The story remains the same; Doug Quaid has a peachy life with a peachy wife until he takes a trip at Rekall embarking on a mission to Mars.

Saving humanity from the bad guys or is Doug taking his dream too far?

You decide.

Unfortunately, Total Recall 2012 hasn’t won me over, but if you have an urge to see a different version of the same story, give it a shot.

On a scale of 1-10 it’s WIRED at 6
