On tonight’s season 5 finale of True Blood nearly every character is in a sticky situation, one that could very easily result in a vampire explosion, fairy explosion, shapeshifter explosion, or plain ol’ boring human explosion. Regardless, there’s going to be blood. Tonight’s finale episode of True Blood season 5 is called ‘Save Yourself.’

On last week’s show it certainly looked like Bill is going off the deep end. It seems Bill is convinced he is the chosen one by Lilith. We also saw Russell completely take down the Fairy Elder, who was BTW one of my favorite minor characters the show has ever brought in. Sookie appeared before her to get some answers about the vampire out to eat her, but she struggled with getting coherent answers. On tonight’s show Eric embarks on a final, desperate mission to overthrow the Authority – and save Bill from losing his humanity. Andy faces the consequences of a light pact he made; Alcide readies for a second showdown with J.D. (Louis Herthum); Sam and Luna test their limits in trying to escape the Authority.

It looks like things may not go well for Russell Edgington tonight. The government has a video of Russell and Steve eviscerating 22 fraternity brothers at the local fraternity and they are not pleased. Meanwhile Russell, not one to stop there, has decided he wants himself a Sookie meal. The faeries band together and gear up for a fight and send lots of faery light at Russell. Russell isn’t your run-of-the-mill villain so I’m betting on the fact that they won’t stake him quite yet.
