The Spice Girls Close The 2012 Olympics (Video)

The Spice Girls reunited last night at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

Riding out on glittering London cabs, Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary performed a medley of “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life”.

While the opening ceremony focused on British culture in general, the closing ceremony zeroed in on music as the country’s chief contribution to global culture, with appearances by British stars from Annie Lennox and Liam Gallagher to Ed Sheeran and One Direction.

“We did it!! I love u girls so much!!!!! xxxvb,” Victoria tweeted alongside a picture of the girls backstage immediately following their two-song performance, adding moments later, “I was a pop star for the night!! I love u @MelanieCmusic, @OfficialMelB, @GeriHalliwell, @EmmaBunton!! we did it!! X vb.”

It was the reunited Spice Girls that made the biggest splash at Sunday night’s event, which was viewed an estimated 300 million around the world and 80,000 fans at Olympic Stadium.
