MTV has CANCELLED America’s guilty pleasure… Jersey Shore!

Because of slipping ratings and a change of dynamics (Snooki’s pregnancy & The Situation’s sobriety) the network has decided to make season six the last and final.

MTV has announced the cancellation of the show before the final season has even aired as a strategy to get more ratings as many viewers will want to see the show for one last time.

As part of the show’s final season promotion, the network is airing a retrospective special called “Gym, Tan, Look Back” before this year’s Video Music Awards on September 6.

The special will look back on all the drunken adventures had by the roommates and will feature a sneak peek for the new season.

The series has produced two spin off shows, “Snooki & JWoww” and “The Pauly D Project.”

While “Snooki & JWoww” has been ordered for a second season, the fate of Pauly D’s show is not very certain due to consistently low ratings.

Good bye Jersey Shore! Thanks for all the alcohol induced fights, hook ups and… well that’s pretty much it.
