Wired Exclusive: Johnny Depp Filming The Lone Ranger (Photo)
Johnny Depp was a big hit at this years Comic-Con, and he wasn’t even there!
Depp has been filming next summer’s blockbuster “The Lone Ranger” in Moab, Utah and … eating at my family’s restaurant, Jeffrey’s Steakhouse.
This isn’t the first time a Hollywood production crew has discovered the restaurant — James Franco became a regular while filming 127 Hours.
A Hollywood Hot Spot in Moab, Utah… go figure!
In the film, Johnny wears long hair and full-face makeup to portray the Lone Ranger’s Native American companion.
The clip that Disney revealed at Comic Con shows his character’s craftiness, with the actor shown riding beneath a speeding train. A comfortable role for Johnny.
Speaking in broken English, “There come a time, Kemosabe … when good man must wear mask.”

The Lone Ranger is pegged for a Summer 2013 release.

I posted this on my big fanpage on facebook. I wonder if Amber was with him? He is looking older and older. He needs to go back with his girlfriend Vanessa. He might start back with his old habits. Now he is native american how wonderful. Depp is French and Wells is English were does the native come in?
Is that pretty woman in the picture Allie? Johnny & the restaurant look quite yummy! Definitely will visit the restaurant when next in Moab (prob a little crowded now with Lone Ranger taking over the town).
Liz sweetie, do you need glasses or did you just watch 1990s Crybaby last night? Johnny looks fantastic & better than he has in a couple years. Thinner, fitter, happier, cleaner, sober. No doubt THANKS to leaving the ambitious little French woman who had already driven him back to drink & possibly worse. She started it and he finished it. BTW, it’s his great-grandmother who was considered to be part Cherokee. Being adopted by head of the Comanche makes him officially Native American and all other tribes must accept him as such no matter what his bloodlines are.
