The 2012 BET Awards are this Sunday, but the festivities started on Friday night with CENTRIC’s BET Awards kick-off party!

The event was hosted by comedian Tony Rock who is debuting his new show “Live! At the Apollo” on the CENTRIC network this fall.

You likely know Tony’s older brother, comedian Chris Rock, who created the hit show “Everybody Hates Chris” and stars in the “Madagascar” films.

Some special guests included Joyful Drake, Mali Music, Olympian Seba Johnson, Kash Howard and from the show “Basketball Wives LA,” Malaysia Pargo.

The packed venue were treated to a performance by musician Leela James, who’s single “A Change Is Gonna Come” has been on the top American R&B charts.

The festivities continued throughout the weekend in celebration of the BET Awards including Tony Rock’s Malibu Mansion Birthday Party and the Official White Carpet pre-award show event at Voyeur nightclub.

I know it was the highlight of the weekend.
