Russell Brand Dodges Jail Time In iPhone Throwing Case

The jury has made a decicion and Russell Brand is GUILTY… kind of.

To catch you up to speed, Brand was charged with a misdemeanor after throwing a paparazzo’s iPhone through a window in New Orleans back in March.

Brand skipped jail time after cutting a deal to have the case dismissed.

Brand’s lawyer plead not guilty in court this morning, but the two side ended up making a deal where Russell would have to pay $500 in court fees as well as perform 20 hours of community service by the end of August.

This comes as good news to the “Brand X” host who could have been looking at up to 6 months behind bars.

Brand will be fulfilling the community service by working with people battling addiction, says his attorney.

You’ve got to love celebrity justice… you can commit any crime and only have to pay a fine and maybe do some community service!
