MTV Working On TV Series Based On ‘Scream’ Films

The movie that revived the “slasher” genre will now be hitting the small screen!

MTV is currently working on a new, weekly show based on the mega-successful “Scream” film franchise

According to a close source, MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are searching for someone to write the pilot.

For now it is unclear whether Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson, the creators of the Scream franchise, will be lending a hand to the new series.

Although it is not official yet, the series does have the potential to be a success.

The four Scream films have collectively earned over $500 million globally and MTV has had success in recent scripted shows such as Teen Wolf and Awkward.

I wonder if Neve Campbell’s career has slowed enough for her to make an appearance… yeah probably.

Would you watch a “Scream” television show?
