Despite fan anticipation, it is being confirmed that Jim Carrey will not be reprising his role in the “Dumb and Dumber” sequel.

Earlier this year it was rumored and then somewhat confirmed that a “Dumb and Dumber” sequel would be in the works and that the film’s original characters, Carrey and Jeff Daniels, would be involved.

Well apparently, this is not the case!

It is being reported that Carrey has left the project due to conflict with the studios, Warner Bros. and New Line.

According to sources, “Carrey grew increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project.”

If Carrey doesn’t return to the project it is likely that film will never see the light of day.

Shooting for the film was said to begin in September so hopefully things get worked out by then.

Here is the best part of the story, they were going to call the film… “Dumb and Dumber To.”
