Wired Movie Review: Albatross
Whether or not you’re a fan of the hit Masterpiece TV series Downton Abbey you will absolutely fall in love with Downton’s Jessica Brown Finlay.
The independent film written by Tamzin Rafn stars Felicity Jones, Jessica Brown Findlay, Sebastian Koch and Julia Ormond.
Directed by Niall MacCormic the film is pure poetry, shedding light on complexities of life at the brink of creativity as well as the struggle of faded glory.
Emilia has influence on each character as strongly as she holds onto her audience. Everyone wants a piece of her. It is the brilliance of Findlay’s work that Emilia has so much to give, even though she owns very little. Giving versus taking speaks to everyman. Emilia is inspired by the name she believes to have inherited.
Convinced it is the source of all her energy, she holds onto the one thing she knows for sure while she experiences ‘the university of life’.
At the brink of loosing everything, including that name, Emilia finds greatness is within her.
On a scale of 1-10 — it’s wired at 6
