‘One Direction’ Is Suing Another, Confused?

British boy band “One Direction” is being sued by an American band also called, One Direction.

The U.S. band has filed the lawsuit, claiming they formed in 2009, an entire year before the UK band members even met.

The U.S. band has asked for a court order that forces the Brits to change their name.

The British group signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records after being formed and placing third in the seventh series of the UK version of “The X Factor.”

One Direction (U.S.), fronted by Sean O’Leary, is not signed to a label, but the pop group has been selling its album, The Light, on iTunes since February 2011.

The plaintiffs’ attorney, Peter Ross, told The Hollywood Reporter, “Rather than change their name…they chose to press ahead and come on their tour.”

Meanwhile, almost a dozen One Direction fans required first aid after passing out in Sydney’s central business district.

With one fan saying, One girl said in the frenzy, “I’ll do anything to see them, I’d even get Tasered for this. I don’t care I just have to see them.”

A rep for Cowell’s label said there was no comment at this time.
