This will be the group’s fourth album and will offer ten new songs.
According to front man Adam Levine, “this is one of our most diverse and poppiest albums yet!”
“‘Moves Like Jagger’ was the first time we ever worked with an outside writer, so we decided to try it some more on this record,” says guitarist James Valentine. “At this point in our career I think it was a good thing to completely mix up our process and it yielded good results, as well as a more collaborative spirit within the band.”
“We wanted to make something that sounded contemporary with the elements of a lot of early eras of pop music. This is our most ‘pop’ record ever and we weren’t shy about really going for it,” he added.
“Overexposed” will also be a very collaborative album which will include an appearance by rapper Wiz Khalifa.
I find it kind of interesting that Maroon 5 is so excited to have outside writers and that their album is their “poppiest” yet.
Most bands would take pride in their songwriting abilities and would detest the thought of going pop, but who knows it could be good.
