Happy Birthday Twitter!

The microblogging site celebrates its sixth birthday, the first tweet was sent out on March 21, 2006. A lot has changed since then.

Twitter now has more than 140 million active users and they’re posting more than 340 million tweets a day, according to the microblogging site. That’s more than 1 billion tweets sent every three days.

In celebration, Jimmy Kimmel featured a segment that had various celebs reading rude tweets about themselves, and in some cases, reacting to them.

The video segment is fittingly set to R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts.”
