Madonna Responds To M.I.A.’s Middle Finger (Listen Here!)

Madonna has responded to M.I.A.‘s middle finger.

Madonna called in to Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show and talked about M.I.A.’s middle finger that made an appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show.

Of course, she wasn’t happy about it.

Sarcastically calling it “punk rock,” Madge said she didn’t realize it happened until after she walked off the stage, noting that she couldn’t keep track of everything that was happening while the performance was taking place.

“To tell you the truth, I didn’t even know about it,” she told Seacrest. “I actually didn’t know about it until I left. . . . I found out about it in the elevator, actually on my way to go to the car to go to the airport. And I was really surprised.”

“I mean, I wasn’t happy about it because for me — I mean, I understand it’s kind of punk rock and everything but you know, to me, there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity, I just, um, it seemed negative,” she added. “You know what I mean? It’s one of those things, it’s such a teenager, in a way, kind of irrelevant thing to do in one respect. But on the other hand, there was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place.”

Madonna also reminded everyone, just how nervous she was, “I was more nervous doing this show than any show I’ve ever done in my entire life, for sure.”
