Janet Jackson sat down with Anderson Cooper for an unforgettable interview about her career, her legendary brother Michael and some advice to Bobbi Kristina.

“It sounds so mean but you have to move on,” the singer said. “You can’t hold on to that because it can be very devastating.”

Janet went on to say that a day doesn’t go by without her thinking of her brother, yet she urged the 18-year-old to dry her eyes. “You have to come to terms at some point. You have to actually give it up to God. You have to go on with life. You figure out a way to move on.”

Bobbi Kristina had a breakdown after her mother was found dead in her hotel room on Saturday.
