Tonight is a special Sunday edition of American Idol. The show will air right after tonight’s New York/San Francisco Football game.

American Idol claims they are kicking it up a notch this year with more talent than they have had in previous season. However, ratings were down for the first two episodes by 20% from Wednesday night’s premiere – 28% from its first Thursday broadcast last year!

The Voice airs February 5th right after the Super Bowl so Idol is going to have to kick it up more than a notch if they want to win the ratings war.
