It’s Rock n Roll week at the X Factor and we are down to the final 10 contestants!
Tonight was performance night and each contestant did their best to channel their inner Rock star.
First to take the stage was LeRoy Bell who performed the Bob Seger song, “We’ve Got Tonight.” The judges were not impressed, saying that Bell lacked the Rock Star confidence and needed to engage the crowd more.
Rachel Crow sang “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones and wowed the judges with her performance. Paula and Nicole even agreed that this was her best song yet.
The next contestant to perform was Chris Rene who sang his rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry,” not really a rock n roll song, but ok.
Stacy Francis was next to the microphone and performed Meatloaf’s “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now.” The judges seemed divided on the performance with Simon and Paula disliking it while LA and Nicole defended it.
Next was Melanie Amaro who sang “Everybody Hurts” by REM. Amaro impressed the crowd and even some of the judges.
Josh Krajcik channeled The Foo Fighters with “The Pretender” and Josh rocked it! LA praised the performer saying, “You have the authenticity. You have the stage presence. You picked the right song.”
Astro performed “I’ll Be Missing You” by P. Diddy and Faith Evans. Apparently, this song passes for rock because of its heavy sampling of Police’s “Every Breath You Take.” Astro pretty much left the chorus to the back-up singers.
Next was the group, Lakoda Rayne who sang The Outfield’s “Your Love” mashed up with “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac. The judges were unimpressed with the group performance.
Drew sang “With Or Without You” by U2 and did an OK job, but the judges were looking for more.
Marcus Canty sang Janis Joplin’s “Another Piece of My Heart.” Canty gave an entertaining, but not very rock performance.
