Robert Wagner Responsible For Natalie Wood’s Death? (Video)

The man who says he urged homicide investigators to look into the mysterious death of actress Natalie Wood, who drowned in 1981 while boating off the coast of California, came on TODAY Friday to talk about why.

“I made some terrible decisions and mistakes,” said Dennis Davern, the former captain of the Splendour, the yacht at the center of the incident.

Wood had been boating with her husband, Robert Wagner and his “Brainstorm” co-star Christopher Walken, off Santa Catalina Island.

“I did lie on a report several years ago,” Davern said. “I made mistakes by not telling the honest truth in a police report.”

When pressed, Davern said he believed Wagner had intentionally kept the investigation into her death low-profile. And when asked if he thought Wagner was “responsible” for Wood’s death, Davern said, “yes, I would say so. Yes.”

“We didn’t take any steps to see if we could locate her,” Davern admitted.

Many of the details he shared have appeared in the book “Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour,” authored by Marti Rulli.

Wouldn’t it just be the most horrible thing imaginable ever, if Robert Wagner got away with murder all this time?
