So are you guys as hooked to this show as I am? In my opinion it’s definitely better than it’s competitor Grimm. Although both shows take many liberties with the classic stories, Once Upon A Time does so in a way that seems to make sense. It’s almost like getting a behind the scenes look at your fave fairy tales.

That being said, tonight’s episode ‘The Price of Gold‘, begins with a young Cinderella upset that she has been forbidden by her stepmother from attending the Prince’s ball.

That’s when her Fairy Godmother shows up and tells her that she will make all her wishes come true.

Just as Cinderella gets all excited, Fairy Godmother goes POOF! and her wand is all that is left of her.

Once the smoke clears, Cinderella sees that Rumplestiltskin is the culprit behind the attack, and offers a deal to the desperate young woman: she can go to the ball and have all her dreams come true for a price… something “precious”.

She signs her name on the dotted line to seal the deal, and then we flash to the present day in Storybrooke Maine.

Emma and Henry are walking down the street to meet his school bus, and once he is on board, the Sheriff offers Emma a job as his deputy.

She considers the offer over a cup of cocoa at Granny’s restaurant, when Regina walks in. The ‘pleasant’ conversation consists of Regina telling Emma that she is not fit to parent Henry because she doesn’t have any roots. (Odds are this will be the catalyst for Emma taking the job as deputy sheriff.)

Upset, Emma spills her drink on herself, and asks if she can use the washing machine in back. That is where she meets Ashley…

Ashley is a 19 year old girl who is pregnant and scared that she won’t be able to take care of her child. Everyone is telling her that she isn’t capable of doing much, let alone take care of a kid.

Emma tells her to say “screw it” to all the nay-sayers and take matters into her own hands.

At this advice, Ashley goes over to Mr. Gold‘s pawn shop (Rumplestiltskin’s current day persona) to try to break into his safe. She is discovered by Gold, and he gets knocked unconscious after she pepper sprays him and takes his key.
