In a clip from Nick & Vanessa’s Dream Wedding, which aired Saturday, Vanessa Minnillo addressed the inevitable comparisons between her nuptials to Lachey and his famously documented marriage to Jessica Simpson, that ended in divorce in 2006.

“To address the elephant in the room, yes, coincidentally at the same time our wedding is going his ex is actually also doing the beautiful thing of getting married herself,” she said.

When Nick was told that a number of bloggers suggested Vanessa called Jessica Simpson an “elephant,” Nick didn’t bat an eye.

“That sounds like the most ridiculous thing,” he said, referring to the bloggers’ assumptions.

Vanessa &NICK knew they needed some drama to create controversey & knew exactly what move they were making. Had they not mentioned the elephant we would still be saying NICK who & Vanessa who. Hoepfully Jess continues to not comment & carries on with her won nuptuial on low key. There was no need to hear about blowjobs or Jessica.
