Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have hit rock bottom and have opened up in an interview about all the mistakes made on their ill-fated quest for fame.

Heidi was first introduced to fame in 2006, when the hit reality TV show The Hills premiered on MTV.

Heidi then started dating Pratt during the shows second season, soon all the focus was on them and they stole the show.

In the interview, the couple first reveals what everyone already knew, that the two actually never broke up.

Heidi reveals, “We’ve never even been apart.”

Not only did the two fake their break up, Spencer fake threatened to release a sex tape and Heidi fake filled a divorce.

“At that point, we were pulling our last cards,” Spencer reveals. “We felt the hot-air balloon losing its gas. And at that stage, our income would be selling the photo that would go along with the divorce.”

Spencer revealed that the couple is broke. They spent $2 million on Heidi’s failed pop-music career and millions on clothing and other material things.

“I probably spent a million dollars on suits and fancy clothes,” admits the somewhat former fame-whore. “My whole million-dollar wardrobe—I would never wear that again. They’re props. Everything we were doing, we were buying props. I bought a big blue monster truck just to drive it on The Hills for an episode. Never drove it again.”

Heidi spoke up saying,“I thought I was investing in myself and my brand. Like Kim.” referring to Kim Kardasian, Heidi continued. “When she buys these clothes, she’s investing in herself. Because she is a big brand and is likeable. I thought I had that potential. My ego got too big. To think I could be someone like that when I was the most hated girl ever.”

The couple reveals that almost everything portrayed in the media was a lie, from the public fights to the magic crystals to the living in a mess of a home.

In regards to her extensive plastic surgery Heidi said, “Obviously I wish I didn’t do it, I would go back and not have any surgery. I got too caught up in Hollywood, being so into myself and my image. I don’t regret anything, but if I could go back, I wouldn’t do it.”

So, where are Heidi and Spencer now?

Heidi is being showcased on the VH1 reality TV show Famous Food and still does promotional events in Las Vegas.

Spencer was considering going back to USC to finish his political science degree, but knows that no one would hire him in politics.

The two now live with Spencer’s parents in a Santa Barbara beach house and don’t pay rent. They spend most of their time watching movies and reading books.

It really is kind of sad how some people abuse the fame and attention like these two did.

Is this the death of Speidi?

Well not unlike a case of herpes, I’m guessing these two will be back in no time.
