‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2′ Joins The $1 Billion Club

Having just completed it’s third weekend in theaters, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 has proven itself to be a fan favorite having surpassed the $1 Billion mark this past weekend.

The film has grossed $318,460,000 in North America, with $690,000,000 internationally, giving an estimated total global earning of $1,008,460,000.

After only 19 days in cinemas, Harry Potter 8 has broken the record for the fastest film in history to earn over a billion dollars in revenue.

Deathly Hallows 2 is the highest grossing film in the Harry Potter franchise overtaking The Philosopher’s Stone which was released in 2001 and earned an estimated $974,755,371 just narrowly missing the $1 Billion mark.

It is an esteemed honor to join the $1 Billion club, as only 8 other films in history have accomplished such a feat.

Other films in the $1 Billion club include, Avatar ($2.8 Billion), Titanic ($1.8 Billion), Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1.12 Billion), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest ($1.07 Billion), Toy Story 3 (1.06 Billion), Alice in Wonderland ($1.02 Billion), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (1.009 Billion), and The Dark Knight ($1.002 Billion).
