With all the promotion and excitement of the new and last ‘Harry Potter’ movie Emma Watson appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

The two discussed the ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows Pt. 2’ premiers in the UK and the US, Watson’s life and of course the subject of alcohol.

Daniel Radcliff had recently come out with his former alcohol addiction so Dave asked the actress if she had known about her costar’s problem.

Watson replied, “To be honest, it’s really not something that I genuinely know much about and you should, I mean, he is the one to talk about it.”

Then in true Letterman style, the host turned the questions on Emma saying, “Do you drink at all? Do you use controlled substances?”

The questions were all in good fun and Watson answered honestly, “Yes. Yes I have. I’ve got very, very drunk once in my life. Fine. I got drunk! I have been drunk!”

Although it may sound scandalous that our little Hermione Granger was getting wasted, she is in fact 21, the legal US drinking age. But in England she has been legally able to drink since she was 18, being that that is the legal age.

I think it is refreshing to have stars like Watson that are more open about their lives and not so coy about every little personal detail.
