Sarah Michelle Gellar Speaks Up On ‘Buffy’ Remake (Video)

It was announced back in November that Warner Bros is officially planning a reboot to the popular television series in the form of a feature film.

Who will be starring as the iconic Buffy The Vampire Slayer? No one knows, but rumors circulated briefly suggesting that Glee‘s Heather Morris would get the role.

Many of the actors and a few of the writers have spoken out against the reboot, saying it was ridiculous to do a re-vamp of the concept without creator/writer Joss Whedon.

I agree with this.

But one person has remained oddly quiet about the whole thing. Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar. At least until now…

While out promoting Nestle’s Share the Joy of Reading Program in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the ‘real’ Buffy sat down with CNN‘s news cameras to talk about the event, as well as offer up her opinion on the new Buffy remake.

Gellar says; “It was a movie, it’s been made. It stars Kristy Swanson, they made it. They don’t need to make another one.”

“I think it’s a horrible idea, to try to do a Buffy without Joss Whedon” the actress continued.

I’m totally with SMG on this one… and I’m fairly certain all Buffy fans worldwide are as well. Down with the Buffy remake…

Unless of course Joss decides to do it, then we’ll watch it!

Most of the anti-reboot articles (including this one) and message board rants have been notably lacking in maturity, eloquence, logic and/or sanity.

So now SMG adds her own childish rant to the mix. Yawn.
