Songstress Mariah Carey gave birth to fraternal twins on Saturday (also the couple’s anniversary) and just made the cut off to celebrate her first mother’s day with the babies in her arms.

For the past few days, mommy and daddy Nick Cannon have been leaking hints via twitter as to the names of the little boy and little girl, but now they’ve gone ahead and announced the baby names!

The name announcement was posted to Mariah Carey’s official blog.

US Magazine has the details:

As reported on Carey’s official blog, the couple’s son’s name is Moroccan Scott Cannon. Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name.

The top tier of Carey’s NYC apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of its Moroccan-inspired decor. It’s also where Cannon, 30, proposed to Carey, 42, in 2008.

The first-time parents’ daughter’s name? Monroe Cannon. Carey’s rep tells CNN Monroe does not have a middle name because her mother doesn’t have one. The baby girl was named after Marilyn Monroe, who has been an inspiration to Carey her whole life.

Congratulations you two! Oh, and Nick a word of advice… don’t go giving out phone numbers and stuff again… your wife might kill you this time! (LOL)
