After being removed from life support yesterday, the actor and former Celebrity Rehab patient died today. Jeff Conaway was 60 years old.

He had been comatose for the last few weeks due to pneumonia and sepsis. A condition caused by many years of substance abuse which took their toll on the actor’s health.

When reports surfaced of his hospitalization, it was implied that he fell into a coma due to a drug overdose. According to Dr. Drew Pinsky who treated the star on his stint on Celebrity Rehab, this was not the case.

Sadly, Conaway’s life had been marked by unsteady work and admitted drug use – most notably addictions to cocaine, alcohol and prescription drugs.
