Miley Cyrus Performs With Joan Jett On Oprah! (Video)
Oprah Winfrey is pulling out all the stops on the final season of her talk show. On her show today the queen of talk played host to goddesses of the music industry, and their contemporary counterparts.
Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, Stevie Nicks, and Salt N’ Pepa, were among the lovely ladies to hit the stage.
The biggest surprise for me, was the pairing of legendary rocker Joan Jett, and former Hannah Montana actress/singer Miley Cyrus.
Holy crap! Miley totally held her own singing next to one of rock and roll’s most innovative and bad ass rock chicks!
I think Miley should give herself over to hard rock from now on… it totally suits her! Check out the video of their performance together!
Awesome right? Sharp contrast to Avril Lavigne‘s performance alongside the ever young, ever talented Pat Benetar.
Avril, with her green highlights looks so uncomfortable and scared sh!tless next to Pat as they duet on Love is a Battlefield.

You’re surprised, Allie? I’m not. Miley covered Joan Jett’s songs in her tours last year. She’s more a rock singer than pop singer for sure, songs like Kickin and Screamin and even Start All Over are sort of medium rock. Miley is definitely some country, some rock, some electronica, not so much pop. Her voice is too strong and distinct for pop. I definitely think Joan Jett and Miley had the most energy of all the performers.
Dear Renna, what you write above makes me wonder if you’ve ever heard Miley Cyrus in a live concert. Her road group is one of the best rock bands out there today and Miley has been rocking it on stage for years. Go to Youtube and check out some of her past performances on stage–it’s pure rock and roll. Then, take a look at the tribute medley of Joan Jett songs she’s done in every concert since 2009 and you’ll come to understand why Joan picked Miley to duet with her on Oprah today.
Are you crazy?! Miley cyrus faux headbanging and bland vocals were cheesy as hell and joan’s band look completely unthesiastic, poor joan she’ll do anything to try to stay relevant.
Miley cyrus is as much rock as hillary duff is.

Avril starts crying because towards the end you can see the mascara is dripping down and her face has wet streaks poor thing!! that seemed scary for her. Miley was trying a bit to hard but they both did a good job :)
