Colin Farrell As A Vampire In ‘Fright Night’ Remake (Photos)

Dreamworks pictures upcoming remake of the 80′s cult classic horror film Fright Night is poised to hit theaters this August.

The reboot stars Colin Farrell, David Tennant, and Toni Collette, and the screenplay was written by head Buffy the Vampire Slayer scribe Marti Noxon.

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

The film is directed by Craig Gillespie who also helmed several episodes of United States of Tara.

I loved the original film SO much when I was younger. Although, the sequel kinda bit, and not in the cool ‘this is a vampire movie so I’m being ironic’ kinda way. It just sucked. (again no metaphor, just garbage)

But with Marti Noxon penning the script, I have SERIOUSLY high hopes for this film. The girl knows her vamps, and how to make them GOOD.

Check out the first photos of the film that were released from Dreamworks, and tell me if you’ll go and check out the film when it opens on August 19.
