I have no idea how these rumors get started, but some ‘insider’ close to Kate Winslet claims that her and crooner John Mayer are a hot item.

Apparently though, the alleged couple are trying to keep a very tight lid on their ‘relationship’… at least that what we’re hearing…

Ok! Magazine has more:

“Kate Winslet is trying her best to keep her steamy new hookup under wraps,” the report claims adding that she “has been secretly spending time with notorious ladies’ man John Mayer.”

So how did their romance allegedly bloom?

“A few weeks ago, John was at a party in Manhattan when he ran into Kate. He really put the moves on her, and Kate eventually responded,” an insider told the publication adding that Kate was “begging him not to blab.”

But apparently their fling is non-existent.

A source close to Kate told Gossip Cop that report is “false,” and that Kate and John “have never met.”

Last we checked, Kate was dating British model Louis Dowler since last year.

Am I the only one that just LOVES reading flip-flop stories? LOL!

Heck, if they’re dating that’s great. I wish them well, because that dude is a sexy beast. And if not, well… more for the rest of us, right?
