Dr. Luke Sues Over Britney Spears Song

In January 2011, The Bellamy Brothers publicly claimed that Britney Spears’ new song, “Hold It Against Me” was a complete and total ripoff of their song, “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?” Wow, that was a mouthful, wasn’t it?

Even the biggest of trolls could realize that it’s not the same song, but still, they opened that “copycat” can of worms.

Now, Britney’s songwriter, Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald is busting a legal cap in the Bellamy Brothers for launching their reported smear campaign. The claws are coming out!

Dr. Luke says that the Bellamy Brothers attack was a “publicity stunt aimed to increase their record sales…and to combat their dwindling relevance.” Snap!

In addition to damages for the supposed defamation, Dr. Luke says that he also wants a court order stating that Britney’s song has nothing to do with their song. That should settle it!
