Lady Gaga Copies Kylie Minogue For ‘Born This Way’ Cover?
Just yesterday, pop queen Lady Gaga shared the artwork for her upcoming single, “Born This Way” — and she looks fierce!
But before you can say “little monsters”, someone is creeping out of the woodwork to call her a copycat.
We’ve heard rumors that Gaga’s new song sounds like Madonna’s song, “Express Yourself” and we’ve caught wind of ethnic groups going after the singer for the “racist lyrics”. But still, we monsters remain vigilant as the song is set for release on Friday!
You know someone was going to cry foul whenever one of the pop princesses unleash something onto the world. They’ve done it to Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and others — So why not Gaga, as well?
But let’s take a closer look at the latest comparison. It looks like “Born This Way” did take some direction from Kylie Minogue’s “Hearts” from 2007. The makeup is similar and now that Kylie’s cover has been converted to black and white, you do see a lot of similarities.
Still, we’re waiting with baited breath for “Born This Way” to come out already. Until then, show us your “Teeth”, little monsters!

I’ve already drawn this comparison myself. It would not surprise me if Born This Way does have more than a passing resemblance to Madonna’s Express Yourself! It just follows suit. Gaga needs to get some original ideas! Unfortunately the vast majority of her fans are too young to recognise the plagiarism and so they deny it on her behalf.
As always Madonna leads and others follow – the Master and the apprentices!!!!!
Um Madonna will be the Pop Queen for eternity, not GaGa. And the cover is a total rip off of Kylie!

The only comparisons is the Font. And, as a graphic designer, I’ll be the first to tell you that both typefaces are actually different.
Kylie’s original cover isn’t even in black and white, so what are you going off of there?
As for the make-up, I think you’ll find a good 100% of all female recording artists have worn black eyeliner, and thick lipstick at some stage or another.
Kylie and Gaga are both very talented but, so many of you are too quick to scream ‘copy’. There’s REALLY not all that many similarities, and by no means an intention to copy anybody- you just WANT there to be one.

lady gaga works with appropriating images from every major pop star, it’s performance art, and it makes sense, she’ not copying, she’s appropriat ing imaghes to fit her own ideals in art. it’s genius actually.
Im so sick of people constantly pinning women of power against them selves. men wear the same tux to every award show and no one ever says brad pit is copying james franco. I bet there are a MILLION covers that use that same font or whatever, but its like, who gives a fuck. when she was WRITING and PRODUCING this song, this is how she saw her cover art. she wasn’t thinking about kylie minogue. and its not lady gaga’s fault she was born before madonna, britney, christina. So the argument that they came first is STUPID. uhh ya they are OLDER than her. Women, we need to SUPPORT our pop stars. not try and tear them down every time they do anything…. EVERYBODY brings something different to the table. we should support them as fans. not compare them to each other, because everyone on this planet is different
also it isn’t uncommon for artists to do this, many artists apprpriate others work to a tee in the fine arts world, and not the way gaga pulls in symbolisim from other works, though other artists do that too. her way of making art is valid, beautiful, intellectual, and smart, which is why some big names in the fine arts world and music industry gravitate towards her, and a bunch of people who arn’t smart enough to understand really make no valid points. sorry. madonna is a sell out, and was never that original when she appropriated the marilyn monroe look in the 80′s. somehting andy warhol built his career upon. lady gaga pulls ideas from a numbre of sources, to fit her ideals as an artist, in a cindy sherman esque type manner. insipired by, and copying are two different ideas.

I enjoy the singing and art of both Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue. I’ve gotta say, I even like Kylie a little bit better, just because I’ve known her for longer and she has grown on me. Lady Gaga, however, is suberbly artistic and talented. These are two great singers.
That being said, this is NOT a copy of Kylie Minoqgue’s artwork. First of all, Kylie’s was in colour. If you just put it in black and white to compare, that’s alright then. Oh no, their heads are pointed the same way! Oh no! They’re both wearing heavy eyeliner and mascara! Oh my! This is terrible!

Lady GaGa has built her career copying Madonna’s various re-inventions/eras so no surprise she’s “borrowing” from Kylie too. I’m in my 20′s but will never understand the people that think Madonna is too old to listen to, age means nothing when it comes to great music. Madonna’s Confessions on a Dancefloor from 2005 bascially created the sound that everyone on the radio is using 5 and 6 years later. Go out there and discover things instead of just listening to the same overplayed 20 songs on Top 40

The similarity of the two albums is an unfortunate mistake and coincidence so every can chill out.
As for Lady GaGa “copying” Madonna: That is very untrue. Just because they are both talented, innovative popstars does NOT mean that GaGa copied Madonna.
