Justin Bieber Disappointed After Best New Artist Grammy Loss

Justin Bieber spoke with Sway of MTV News backsage at last night’s 53rd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, where the 16-year-old talked about losing out in the Best New Artist category to Esperanza Spalding.

“I had no clue what was going to happen; I worked really hard these past few years and you know, I’m not going to lie – I was disappointed,” Bieber confessed. “But, you know, I’m gonna come back [next year] and we’ll take a few home.”

After Esperanza Spalding caused an upset at the Grammys, beating Justin Bieber to win best new artist, the two stars shared kind words about each others’ hair and hugged backstage.

“I’m happy for you,” the 16-year-old Canadian pop singer told the 26-year-old American jazz artist.

“I like your hair.” What a little moron. You know his publicist made him sit there… and he didn’t wanna do it.
