Racist Group Boycott ‘Thor’ Because Of Black Deity

In a move that seems to be stuck in the 1950′s, ‘The Council of Conservative Citizens‘ have decided to boycott the Marvel film Thor because the studio decided to use a black actor to portray one of the Norse Gods.

The character of Heimdall played by Idris Elba, has begun to stir up old racist behaviors.

In classic Norse Mythology Heimdall, also called ‘The White God‘ is usually depicted as such, and is also portrayed as a white man in the Marvel comics.

For whatever reason, Kenneth Branaugh decided to use an actor that breaks this stereotype. Good for him.

The neo-racist conservative group’s head Dr. Sam Francis said in his ‘Statement of Principles‘:

“Norse mythology gets multi-cultural remake in upcoming movie titled “Thor,” Marvel studios. It’s not enough that Marvel attacks conservatives values, now mythological Gods must be re-invented with black skin.

It seems that Marvel Studios believes that white people should have nothing that is unique to themselves. An upcoming movie, based on the comic book Thor, will give the Aesir an insulting multi-cultural make-over. One of the Gods will be played by Hip Hop DJ Elba.”

Website Slashfilm points out that they are arguing about the depiction of a mythological (AKA FICTIONAL) character and that it should be up to the storyteller’s discretion to cast as they see fit.

What kind of world do we live in that this kind of sh!t still happens? Come on, the behavior of this group is just despicable. Besides, have you SEEN Idris? Holy sexyness! And I’m all about sexy men in movies, YUMMY!

It’s disgusting that so many close minded people like this exist in the world. Who cares what colour an actors skin is. Personally they could’ve cast Harry Potter as a black kid and as long as the performance was true to the character I wouldn’t care.
I find it funny that the boycott group goes on about how its an afront to their culture do portray a deity with the wrong skin colour. Yet they don’t have a problem with Thor being a super hero running around with the likes of Iron Man and The Hulk (The Avengers). Isn’t that more degrading to their gods than the colour of his skin?
Bottom line, grow up people. its freakin movie.

When did Idris work as a hip-hop DJ? I’ve only known him as an actor, and a darn good one.

@ Vusi, I’m fairly certain they are making ridiculous assumptions based on his skin color. You should read the other ridiculous things on the boycott site… http://boycott-thor.com/ People are just sick.

It’s about respect for the Norse religion, people, culture, ect. You anti-White Zoglings better wake up if you have any decency. Go ahead and research “jewish supremacy” yourself, there’s a reason for this filth.

Thor was originally a black diety until the Europeans decided they wanted to rewrite history…or should I say tell their lies. The word Thor originates from the Egyptian diety Hathor. In 2011 black people will become more conscious of our past as the spirits of our ancestors reach out to us.
