People Should’ve Paid To Keep Kim Kardashian Offline

Kim Kardashian and a host of other celebrities have digitally “died” to help raise money for World AIDS Day. Unfortunately for them, the charity project has gotten off to a rocky start.

Celebrities including Kim, Ellen DeGeneres, Elijah Wood, Ryan Seacrest, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga and many others have sacrificed their digital lives to help Keep A Child Alive.

The stars pledged to stay away from Twitter and Facebook until they reached their goal of $1 million. So far, they’re running very short of the goal. Pop Eater reports:

Now that World AIDS Day (Dec. 1) is over, it looks like there’s a long way to go until we’ll be seeing any tweets or Facebook updates from Kim, Gaga, JT and other participating celebs like Ryan Seacrest, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Elijah Wood and Serena Williams — the donations stand at just over $160,000 as of Thursday morning. Reaching the $1 million mark could stretch deep into December.

The celebs involved are asking their fans to “Buy Life” and help them reach their goals. So far, none of them have really broken their promise not to tweet, except to tweet their charity messages. Ellen DeGeneres, on the other hand, must’ve gotten antsy about the lack of social networking and has broken the rules!

She tweeted, “I’m back! What did I miss? Who’s trending? Did we figure out how to teleport yet?”

I thought they had to shut up until their goals were met? Perhaps they should’ve said that folks could donate to keep Kim Kardashian quiet? Now that would’ve been somethin’!
