The People’s Choice Awards nominees list was announced today.

Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Robert Pattinson, & Taylor Lautner are all competing for ‘Favorite Movie Actor’, while Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Katherine Heigl, & Kristen Stewart are all up for ‘Fave Movie Actress’.

For the ‘Favorite Movie’ category, I noticed that only one original film made the cut. I guess that proves that the movie going public prefers remakes, reboots, and sequels to films that break new ground.

The noms for ‘Favorite Movie’ are; Alice in Wonderland, Inception, Iron Man 2, Toy Story 3, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and I’m saddened that pseudo-biopic The Social Network was not nominated for this category. It was in my opinion one of the best films of the year. It was in fact nominated for ‘Favorite Drama Movie’, but then again, so was Twilight… uh huh…
