Tim Burton Casts New Movie ‘Frankenweenie’
Director Tim Burton is re-teaming with some familiar faces for his stop-motion animated Disney feature “Frankenweenie.”
Winona Ryder, Martin Landau, Catherine O’Hara and Martin Short will comprise the top-notch voice cast, the studio has confirmed.

John August wrote the script for the project, which is based on Burton’s 1984 live-action short film about a man who reanimates his dog after it gets hit by a car.
Ryder previously starred in Burton’s “Edward Scissorhands” and “Beetlejuice,” the latter of which also featured O’Hara, who voiced the sultry Sally in “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Short previously worked with the filmmaker on “Mars Attacks,” while Landau won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Bela Lugosi in Burton’s “Ed Wood.”
O’Hara and Short will voice five characters each, while the lead role of Victor is yet to be cast.

Ryder has been earning strong notices for her brief but vital turn in Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan.” She next stars as Kevin James’ cheating wife in Ron Howard’s “The Dilemma.”
