I don’t even care what the whole story is. The violence in front of that baby needs to stop. It should have been reported when it happened, not months later. I hope that kid gets placed somewhere safer than where she is now, and not with your psychotic sister. She needs a real family, and if you can’t see that they need help(especially having the ‘full story’) and that Leah needs to be in a better place, then you’re just as crazy as she is.

Ok I understand there r 2 sides 2 every story but it seems that they r only showing 1 side. Im a mom of 2 teens and Ive watched since season 1. After tuesdays episode I reported Amber Portwood 2 cps. I mean she even tried 2 push him down the stairs. We have all watched her hit on Gary since last season. And she is a slob. I grew up in an abusive household and I promise you that it is not going to get any better unless authorities intervene. From my experience, it doesn’t seem like Amber is really the victim here. If the rumors are true that Gary hit her first, it was probably to get her off of him because she definitely fits the abusive role. Officials should step in and remove the baby from her custody.

Amber clearly needs help, she is letting her rage blind her, of course there is more to what we are see on television, but that is no excuse for her actions. Doesn’t she realize that when she kicked Gary she could have knocked him down the stairs with the baby in his arms? She whines and she manipulates and loves to turn the whole to her benefit. Gary seems to be very patient and has put up with more BS than he should, he is clearly whipped and needs to grow a few. He should keep the baby and take her to court, then when she meets certain criteria she should be allowed monitored visitation.

If you watch the entire episode — the baby was there, with him… but then he leaves, returns later “without” the baby — that’s when the fight ensues. The child was NOT there.

Amber blames everyone for her problems so it’s no wonder she’s taking the ‘Gary started it and does (fill in the blank to upset me.’ Everytime she complains to her cousin she tries to act like an innocent victim, when in fact she’s the psycho pants that goes off screaming, name-calling, and beating Gary.

One has to wonder how many times she’s laid a hand on Leah. She clearly doesn’t care for her child, as she treats her like a total nuisance. Gah, she’s so self-absorbed, immature and just obnoxious I don’t know how anyone can stand to be around her.

You know what, I had it with Amber LAST episode when she was yelling at Leah in the car because Leah was making baby noises. I don’t care what the situation might be, there is NEVER an excuse to tell your child to “Shut the f*** up!” And she said it repeatedly. That is psychological abuse.

Many teenaged moms do not seem to grasp the different stages a child goes through in those early years and no clue about milestones etc. To them, it’s a baby, babies drink from a bottle and use a diaper. It is like pulling teeth to get these parents to transition to sippy cups or start potty-training because to them, 3-year olds are still babies and they didn’t see why they should be expected to stop treating them like babies. I see this with Amber. She has not changed her parenting style at all in the past year and uses the same tactics to deal with Leah now, as she did when she was under a year. The “Play with what? She’s a baby!” comment from last week speaks volume. She really probably think Leah has the same mental capacity as she did when she was an infant. So if someone told her to stick Leah in the crib when Amber needs a nap when she was a newborn, I’m sure she would see no problem in continuing to do it to this day (especially since it makes like easier for Amber). I think Gary is starting to realize things need to change (probably prompted by his mother), but he isn’t making the effort beyond pointing out to Amber all she’s doing wrong which just cause another fight. He isn’t sitting with Leah, reading to her or encouraging her to learn more words, or even really playing with her! Yes, Gary will actually hold her, but I’ve never seen him engage her (when he talks to her, it’s more like he’s just saying what he’s doing, very detached “Time to change your diaper”, more like he’s talking to the room. I think he isn’t quite sure what one does with a baby either.) I think he’s hoping if he points out to Amber that she’s a bad mother, she’ll suddenly wake up and be world’s best mom. He just wants life to be Amber taking care of the baby, while he (maybe) works and gets to be a dad on his terms. But Amber is not going to wake up and be a different person.
Many hope Gary will get custody, but I don’t see how that would lead to things getting better for Leah. Gary would be back with Amber in a month because the perks of having SOMEONE outweighs what’s best for his daughter. I personally would rather never be in a relationship again, than be in one where we just fight all the time, but Gary seems to have different priorities. When they were seperated last season, he came over begging her to take him back, saying he was lonely. He allows his daughter to be in an abusive situation because it’s more important for him to be in a relationship (any relationship) and that’s a bad parent. Maybe not AS BAD as Amber for resorting to violence, but it still has the same end result. Leah in a bad situation.

Amber has been abusive to Gary in the past. Nobody deserves this. If he had hit her on the first season, he’d be in jail. She’s teaching her daughter to be abusive. She was stupid to do this on film especially–this will help Gary get custody of his daughter. I hope he does. I saw an interview with them, and Amber’s excuses are typical of domestic abusers. When confronted about her abuse towards Gary on the reunion show the first time, she straight out said she didn’t feel bad for what she did. She’s abusive, she needs help, and Gary needs sole custody of Leah.

I just come down on the side of abuse is abuse is abuse. I can’t really tolerate the rationales that excuse it. Plain and simple it is wrong. Baby Leah is suffering the most because these formative years you can’t get back. I would just like to see Amber cuddling her child and reading her a book or doing something productive. Instead, Leah wanders around the apt. while Amber yells at her to stay out of things while Amber lies on the couch or bed. It drives me nuts. Did Amber have a crappy childhood too? Yes most likely, but you have to move beyond that and not use that as a excuse for bad behavior hence the cycle continues into another generation.

I’m not going to be too hard on her, but she definitely needs to re-evaluate herself and find other ways to express her anger before she loses the most important thing in the world, her daughter.

Being an advocate for domestic violence victims and survivors. I was stunned to see that episode where amber is beating up her boyfriend. This girl needs help before she does this to her child, and she will most likely teach this behavior to the child. And even worse, WHO IS FILMING THIS!

Hey producers! Camera people! Setup crew! And whoever else is involved in this show. Are you doing anything to help this child that amber is neglecting? Seriously. You need to respond to this publicly before this bites you in the ass. For sure it will.

I’m almost 100% positive that this girl is on some type of drug. Painkillers probably, mixed with depression, anxiety, and/or bipolar meds. That rage comes from that type of drug abuse. Believe me, I know people that abuse pills, and react JUST like that when something small bothers them. They flip out like that. I’m glad CPS is stepping in. I feel so bad for Leah… It’s not her fault.

Amber is an awful mother. She can’t use her age as an excuse, either because all the other teen moms, even Farrah, for crying out loud..are WAY more patient and loving toward their children. Amber’s house is not even baby-proofed. Did you see a child gate near those stairs? I sure didn’t! God forbid baby Leah should fall down those stairs when her useless pig of a mother is laying around in bed as always and not watching her. We’ve already seen her leave knives within reach and fail to take a glass candle jar from the child’s hands. It was easier to shout at Gary about it than to actually DO anything.

She is already neglectful of Leah, see where she left her alone in the swing? all the times she has put that poor baby into her filthy crib/cage to cry alone just because she refused to deal with her? She’s not fit to be around children, period.

I can’t believe that Gary hasn’t pursued full custody of Leah from Amber. I would hate to see Leah growing up in an abusive home. Whats even more sickening is when Amber can sit there and make up excuses as to why she does it. THERE IS NO REASON FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE. The only reason she hits him and constantly talks down and bad to him is because she thinks he will always take it. I wish Gary would of left Amber on the one episode when he went on that date with the girl and they went bowling. Amber doesn’t deserve to have custody with her daughter. I have watched every season of 16 and pregnant and teen mom and Gary has been rude to Amber and treated her like dirt for so long I don’t blame her for getting pissed off and hitting him. Gary says hes going to take Leah and Amber pays for the appartment, trying to get her GED, trying to have a life, and taking care of the baby. While Gary sits on his fat lazy ass! Im sorry but this will end badly. With a temper like ambers she will likely do something stupid and end up killing or severely hurting Gary or the baby. Something needs to be done. I refuse to watch MTV anymore because they have done nothing to help the situation. If you are there call the police. If you witness violence of any kind it is your job to report it and seeing as you were there and have video evidence Gary wouldn’t even have to press charges the police can do it for him. Regardless of who called who what there is no excuse for domestic violence and there is definitely no reason to tell your baby to stfu. I saw Amber selfishness since season 1 of teen mom. Gary had a job then. She bugged him so much he probably lost it because of her. He paid the rent too. He would ask why she didn’t clean up the place and she’d respond that she was studying for her GED and being a mom. HA! If you completed the 9th grade you can pass you’re GED. As for no having crib sheets…there is no excuse. If don’t have money, then take some clean bed sheet and fold them up and put them in the crib. If the baby cries try to find out why. And never curse at a baby/toddler. If Leah doesn’t understand “no” or “stop that” then get up and move her away from what she’s doing and explain why its wrong. Then tell her you love her. But that is way above Amber’s methed out head.

Amber is a bad mom. She cusses at Leah, leaves her in the crib and neglects her, she lets leah walk all over the apt and than gets mad at her when she gets into suff, she even left a knife on the floor when leah was walking around, she hits gary, she definately has an anger problem. I’m really upset that mtv never reported her to CPS…they witnessed it all and never did anything. I hate how they’ve been showing previews of her crying and apologizing for hitting Gary on the Reunion show. She had said in the Season 1 Reunion show that she didn’t feel bad about hitting him. She obviously doesn’t care, she’s just saying sorry because everyone now knows how abusive and neglectful she is. I feel bad for Leah, I hope she gets taken away from Amber and has a chance at a good childhood without any abuse or neglect. If you notice on one of the last episodes when Amber is talking to Gary about schedules just after their fight, Leah says “Quiet Now!” and points at Amber….that’s just another example at what poor little Leah is learning and picking up from Amber.

I don’t believe that Amber should have Leah unless it is supervised visitation. She is an awful mother and doesn’t seem to care about Leah at all. I don’t remember ever seeing her play with Leah at all, she is either telling her to be quiet or throwing her in her crib to cry. I also think Gary needs to be a man. He is such a pushover that I am embarrased for him. He had nothing to apologize for after she smacked him around. Come on Gary walk away with your daughter and get your act together, I don’t think Amber is capable of keeping it together and Leah deserves at least one responsible parent.

Little Leah comment on the finale was proof enough about how Amber speaks to thy child.. I’ve never heard Leah say anything else on this show. This is the first time I’ve heard her speak an her words were directed at her mother and were exactly this: “quiet, now!” I think my point has been clearly made.

Amber seems to be a terrible mom. Aswell as dirty living female. Idk but on tv it seems like she hardly ever watches her child the little girl just does what she wants at home and in public.
