Britney Spears has been the top dog on Twitter since overthrowing Ashton Kutcher. But now, Lady Gaga has taken the crown for the most followers.

Perez Hilton had recently suggested that if followers of Britney unfollowed her and followed Lady Gaga, that she would be the queen of Twitter. He “suggested” it, but that was a total douche move.

Today, Gaga has 5,670,688 followers, while Britney has 5,668,756. It’s not that much of a difference in numbers and in no way suggests that Gaga is more popular than Britney, but just on Twitter.

To be honest, I love both of their music. They’ve both worked hard to carve out niches for themselves, so there should really be no competition between them. The both make awesome music and no hate should be directed in either direction.

It sickens me that Britney gave Perez a job on her tour and that’s how he repays her.
