No one ever said that Paris Hilton was the sharpest tool in the shed.

Apparently, after packing up her gajillion bags to trek over to South Africa for the World Cup, she also packed a little bit of weed for her trip.

Hey, there’s a reason why celebrities take private jets, right? Officers in South Africa didn’t take too kindly to her little stash and have detained the socialite.

It hasn’t been said how much of the smoke she was caught with, but she will have to face the court.

An officer, who spoke under the condition of anonymity said, “She was found in possession of some amount of dagga [marijuana]. We don’t know how much. It’s a high profile person, only the top cops are dealing with it.”

I’m sure she’ll find a way to buy her way out of trouble for that one. They should really check her jet, though. They just might hit the mother load there.

Now if we can only relive this memory, I’d be set for life:

Think she’ll get off with a slap on the wrist? She is “high profile”. Ugh.

Update: Paris has already been cleared in the pot incident. Officials claim they’d misidentified her and have apologized for the kerfuffle. Did she pay them off?
